Between 2024 and 2026, EC3Metrics has hosted four students from the Double Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and Mathematics at the University of Granada through the Ícaro work placement programme.
During their placements, the students gained first-hand insight into how a company specialising in data analysis, bibliometrics and research evaluation operates, applying their knowledge to real projects and challenges.
Their strong grounding in mathematics and computer science has been a valuable contribution to our day-to-day work, particularly in areas such as programming, process automation, data handling and complex problem-solving.
This experience reaffirms the value of collaboration between universities and industry: an opportunity for professional development for the students and, at the same time, a way of bringing new skills, fresh perspectives and the talent of young women trained in scientific and technological disciplines into the EC3Metrics team.
